Floripa Airport: the gateway to paradise
Traveling to Florianópolis is to discover a destination where nature, culture, and well-being meet in perfect harmony — and this experience begins at Floripa Airport, the modern airport of Florianópolis, also known as Hercílio Luz International Airport.
Recognized among the best in the country, the terminal managed by the concessionaire Zurich Airport Brasil combines comfort, efficiency, and architecture inspired by the island's lifestyle, with spacious areas, green spaces, and a welcoming atmosphere.
A reference in Brazil
Located in the south of Santa Catarina Island, Floripa Airport is the main point of arrival for visitors wishing to explore the coast of Santa Catarina. With direct flights to major Brazilian capitals and international connections, the airport is a reference in sustainability, technology, and excellence in service.
Additionally, Boulevard 14/32 (referring to the airport's runway numbers) offers various amenities — market, pizzeria, brewery, pharmacy, coffee shop, clothing stores, among others — and hosts free shows on Saturdays and various other attractions on weekends.
How to get to Costao
The Costao do Santinho Resort is located in the north of Santa Catarina Island, in one of the most beautiful and preserved regions of Florianópolis. The distance between Floripa Airport and Costao do Santinho is approximately 40 kilometers, and the journey takes between 50 and 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
The most direct route follows the SC-401, the main access road to the north of the island. During the journey, visitors pass through access points to various neighborhoods in the city, such as João Paulo, Santo Antônio de Lisboa, Jurerê, and Ingleses, and have the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of Florianópolis — areas of Atlantic forest, green-covered hills, and panoramic views of the bays surrounding the city.
Alternative route
For those who wish to turn the commute into a tourist experience, there is an alternative route filled with stunning landscapes, east of Santa Catarina Island. Leaving Floripa Airport, visitors can head towards Lagoa da Conceição, one of the most democratic and tourist-friendly neighborhoods in the city, full of cafés, small shops, and viewpoints with views of the dunes and the sea.
The route continues through Praia Mole, famous among surfers, and Barra da Lagoa, a picturesque village that combines nature and local culture. From there, the road advances through Rio Vermelho, an area of native vegetation and tranquility, until reaching the neighborhood of Ingleses — the gateway to Santinho and the resort.
This route is a bit longer, with an average duration of 1h20 to 1h30, but it compensates with incredible views and the opportunity to discover some of the most beautiful postcards of Florianópolis.
Arrival at Costao: where the journey gains meaning
At the end of the journey, visitors are greeted by the beauty of Praia do Santinho, surrounded by dunes, trails, and ancient archaeological sites. The Costao do Santinho Resort is an icon of Santa Catarina's tourism, known for its hospitality, diverse gastronomy, comprehensive leisure facilities, and integration with nature.
The combination of Floripa Airport and Costao do Santinho offers the perfect balance between practicality and enchantment: the airport connects the world to the island, and the resort turns this arrival into an unforgettable experience.
From end to end, Florianópolis reveals itself as a destination that welcomes, inspires, and surprises.
